Remove the Buildup Between Your Panels and the Sun

Dust, dirt, salt and bird droppings can reduce the sunlight reaching your solar panels. We remove that buildup using soft, non-abrasive cleaning methods suited to the panel surface.

More Sunlight Reaching the Panel Means Less Output Lost to Buildup

Dust, pollen, salt, bird droppings and other grime can sit across the panel surface and block some of the sunlight reaching the cells underneath. Cleaning that buildup away can help recover solar output lost to dirt and residue on the panels.
Rain can wash away some loose dust, but pollen, bird droppings, salt film and other buildup can remain on the surface.

When Is a Clean Worth Considering?

Bird Droppings, Pollen or Visible Buildup

If you can see patches of bird droppings, pollen, leaves, salt or grime across the panels, there is physical buildup there for a clean to remove.

They’ve Never Been Cleaned — or You’re Not Sure When They Were

If the system has been on the roof for years without a clean, it’s worth checking what has accumulated rather than assuming the panels have stayed clear.

After Long Dry, Dusty or High-Buildup Periods

Extended dry weather, nearby construction, dust, coastal exposure, surrounding trees or heavy bird activity can all leave more material across the panels than usual.

Flat or Low-Angle Panels

Panels with less slope tend to hold onto dirt and residue more easily than steeper panels, making buildup more likely to remain on the surface.

What We Take Care of During a Solar Panel Clean

We clean the accessible panel surfaces and remove dirt, dust, pollen, salt, bird droppings and general outdoor buildup.

Panel Surface Cleaning

The glass across each accessible panel is cleaned so the buildup sitting over the surface is removed.

Soft, Non-Abrasive Cleaning

We use cleaning methods suited to solar panels, without harsh scrubbing or abrasive treatment on the panel surface.

Visible Issues Flagged

If we notice obvious visible damage or heavy staining on the areas we can see, we’ll bring it to your attention.

Before & After Photos on Request

We can provide before and after photos so you can see the condition of the panels and the difference once they’ve been cleaned.

Work Area Left Clean

Any mess created during the clean is taken care of before we leave.

Removing Buildup Without Harsh Scrubbing

How much attention each area needs depends on the type and amount of buildup on the panels.

Buildup Loosened & Removed

We loosen and remove dirt and residue from the glass across each accessible panel.

Heavier Buildup Gets More Attention

Dust and loose grime can come away quickly, while bird droppings, pollen and more stubborn buildup may need extra work across the affected areas.

Final Check

Once the panels are clean, we check the accessible surfaces and go back over anything that still needs attention.

Simple Pricing Based on Panel Count

Standalone solar panel cleaning starts from $149.

Add Solar and Save $50

Already having the gutters cleaned? Add your solar panels to the same visit and save $50 compared with booking solar panel cleaning separately.
Solar panel cleaning starts from $99 when added to a gutter clean.

We Work Out the Access Before We Book the Job

Being able to see the panels doesn’t always mean they’re straightforward to reach. Roof height, pitch, panel position and obstacles around the home can all change how the clean needs to be approached.
We look at the access before confirming the job, then choose the safest practical way to reach and clean the panels.

Roof Access Where It Makes Sense

Where the roof can be safely accessed, we may use a ladder and work from the roof so we can properly reach the panel surfaces.

Some Systems Need a Closer Look

Steep roofs, multiple roof levels, three-storey homes or panels positioned behind difficult roof sections may need to be assessed individually before we confirm the clean.

Cleaning Scope Confirmed Before Booking

We’ll confirm which panels are included in the quoted clean and let you know if any sections need further access assessment.
